Mike Sempert is your favorite songwriter's favorite songwriter. His songs are deeply human, at once effortless and crafted with care.
Mike's first solo album, Mid Dream (Velvet Blue Music 2014) was an ode to vintage 70s singer-songwriter production, and included the song "Finest Line," which was licensed for TV (Syfy) as well as viral videos accruing over 22 million views on YouTube.
His second solo album, Tend the Flame (Infinity Maps 2017) explored more of the synthy indie rock of his Birds & Batteries ouvre, and featured the single “Distance”, which has been licensed by multiple TV shows and accrued close to a million plays on Spotify.
Sempert’s third solo album, Reunion of Sparks was released on Infinity Maps in 2019 and remains his most soul-bare and vulnerable collection of songs.
Mike Sempert's fourth album of original songs, titled Tragic Masculinity (2025 Infinity Maps Records) features a range of styles from self-aware indie-pop to soulful soft rock.
Sempert's original songs have been licensed for television by ABC's Grey's Anatomy, Netflix' Bloodline, Disney +'s Just Beyond and many more.
Mike teaches Songwriting, Lyric Writing and Music Production at Berklee College of Music in Boston.
